Sengkang Floating Wetland

This is an artificial wetland located in the midst of Punggol Reservoir on the north-eastern part of Singapore. The wetland was constructed for the main purpose of using nature to clean the water of the reservoir. The plants that we see on the wetland were carefully chosen for their ability to absorb nutrients and remove pollutants from the water through their roots. Besides improving the quality of the water in the reservoir, the wetland supports a rich biodiversity of animals and other plants, and offers nearby residents of Sengkang a pleasant landscape to enjoy. The wetland is accessible via two walkways with entrances on the banks of the reservoir.

Come and learn more about the ambitious and creative approaches to water management in Singapore.
